Premiada una película belga por el Parlamento Europeo / Belgian film awarded by European Parliament

El Parlamento Europeo otorgó hoy su Premio LUX y la película belga "The Breakdown Broken Circle" ha ganado el LUX Prize2013!
El "The Breakdown Broken Circle" (titulada "Alabama Monroe" en España) es la nueva película de Felix van Groeningen. La película está basada en la obra de teatro con el mismo nombre de Johan Heldenbergh y Mieke Dobbels, con la que se  han llenado de todo tipo de teatros, centros religiosos, centros públicos y centros culturales.
Este film es el cuarto largometraje de Van Groeningen después de Steve+Sky (2004), With Friends Like These (2007) and The Misfortunates (2009).
Este último film otorgó a su director el reconocimiento internacional tras haber sido seleccionado en Cannes (Quincena de los Realizadores, 2009).
"The Breakdown Broken Circle" fue la película nacional más exitosa de la temporada 2009/2010 (con 465.000 espectadores) y ha ganado varios premios y nominaciones, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Las cifras de público en Francia y los Países Bajos fueron particularmente notables. La película ha sido seleccionada como candidata belga para la categoría de Mejor Película Extranjera en los Oscar de 2014.
Sinopsis:
El film narra la historia de amor entre Elise y Didier. Ella tiene su propia tienda de tatuajes, él toca el banjo en una banda. Es amor a primera vista, a pesar de las grandes diferencias. Él habla, escucha. Él es un ateo militante, aunque al mismo tiempo un romántico ingenuo. Ella tiene una cruz tatuada en su cuello, a pesar de que ella vive firmemente con los pies en el suelo. Su felicidad es completa después de que nazca su niña Maybelle. Desafortunadamente, Maybelle, a los seis años de edad, enferma gravemente. Didier y Elise responden de maneras muy diferentes. Pero Maybelle no les deja otra opción. Didier y Elise tendrán que luchar por ella juntos.

Parliament awarded its LUX Prize today and the Belgian film "The Broken Circle Breakdown" has won the LUX Prize2013!
The Broken Circle Breakdown is the new film by Felix van Groeningen. The film is based on the stage play with the same name by Johan Heldenbergh and Mieke Dobbels, with which they filled all manner of theaters, church halls, public houses and cultural centres.
This film is van Groeningen’s fourth feature-length film after Steve+Sky (2004), With Friends Like These (2007) and The Misfortunates (2009). The latter gave Felix international recognition after it was selected in Cannes (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, 2009). The film was the indigenous hit movie of  the 2009/10 season (465,000 admissions) and won several awards and nominations, both nationally and internationally. The admission figures in France and the Netherlands were particularly noteworthy. The film was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Film Oscar in 2014
Synopsis:
The Broken Circle Breakdown tells the love story between Elise and Didier. She has her own tattoo shop; he plays the banjo in a band. It is love at first sight, in spite of major differences. He talks, she listens. He is a dedicated atheist, although at the same time a naïve romantic. She has a cross tattooed in her neck, even though she has both feet firmly on the ground. Their happiness is complete after their little girl Maybelle is born. Unfortunately, Maybelle, at six years old, becomes seriously ill. Didier and Elise respond in very different ways. But Maybelle does not leave them any choice. Didier and Elise will have to fight for her together.
