En 2014, el mundo recordará el centenario de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Durante la Gran Guerra, en 1915, el famoso cineasta ruso Wladyslaw Starewiczs realizó una de sus primeras películas. El film, una película muda titulada "El lirio de Bélgica" (Lilya Belgii, en ruso en el original) es un alegoría de la situación en Europa.
Breve sinopsis: Una niña encuentra un bello lirio muerto en el bosque. Ella pregunta a su abuelo y él le cuenta una alegoría sobre el Lirio de Bélgica: el lirio está en todo su esplendor junto a un arroyo, admirado por las criaturas de los bosques, pero un ejército de escarabajos, empeñados en la conquista de nuevos territorios, quieren cruzar el arroyo y el lirio está bloqueando su camino.

The year 2014 will mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War. During the Great War, in 1915, the famous russian film-maker Wladyslaw Satrewiczs made one of his earliers films. The film, a silent movie entitled "The Lily of Belgium" (Lilya Belgii, in Russian)serves as an allegory to the situation in Europe.
Brief summary: A young girl finds a beautiful dead lily in the woods. She asks her grandfather about it. He tells her an allegory about the Lily of Belgium: The lily stands in splendor beside a stream, admired by the creatures of the woods. But an army of beetles, commeted to conquering new territories, want to cross the stream, and the lily is blocking their way.
¡Maravillosa película! La nieta y el abuelo son todo candor y ternura. La alegoría de la historia está muy bien planteada. La calidad del trabajo de animación con el ejercito de los ambiciosos y crueles escarabajos, fue una sorpresa, teniendo en cuenta la fecha de creación de la película. ¡Estupenda!
ResponderEliminarWonderful movie! Granddaughter and grandfather are all candor and tenderness. The allegory of the story is very well posed. The quality of animation work with the ambitious and cruel beatles army was a surprise for me, considering the date of creation of the movie.Great!
