François Schuiten es un historietista belga, nacido en Bruselas en 1956.
Su trabajo más conocido es la serie Les Cités Obscures (Las Ciudades Oscuras) junto con el guionista Benoît Peeters, que se desarrolla en un mundo imaginario en el que se mezcla el surrealismo metafísico Borgesiano con la literatura de Julio Verne, destacando los detallados diseños arquitectónicos de Schuiten para las distintas Ciudades oscuras.
La serie comenzó en 1983 con Les Murailles de Samaris (Las Murallas de Samaris) y continúa a día de hoy.

François Schuiten is a Belgian comic book artist, born in Brussels in 1956. He is best known for drawing the series The Obscures Cities (Les Cités Obscures) with the scriptwriter Benoît Peeters. The Cités obscures happens in an imaginary world with features of the metaphisical Surrealism of Borges and the literature by Julius Verne.  It should be pointed out the architectonical design of Schuiten for the diferent obscures cities. The series starts in 1983 with the album The Walls of Samaris (Les murailles de Samaris in French) and it's still be published today.
